Sam Whitehouse is a singer and musician from the Boston area, who performed throughout New York before finding her current musical home in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has traveled extensively throughout the USA, Canada, and Central America.
Her sound is as sultry as it is heartfelt, and with her warm, endearing presence, she invites the listener to join her in the music, creating an atmosphere that feels like a personal, intimate conversation with an old friend.
Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Janis Joplin, and Bonnie Raitt are on the long list of legends that inspire her. Her style is also influenced by contemporary singers such as Lianne La Havas, Melody Gardot, Esperanza Spaulding, Leela James, and Norah Jones.
In addition to jazz and blues, Sam is also fluent in pop, rock, funk, R&B, and neo soul. She brings a full collection of covers, including everything from Adele to Zero 7.
Throughout the last 10 years, Sam has also built up two successful and vibrant voice coaching companies. She continues to work with dozens of students of all backgrounds and musical styles.
